"Ingredients:

- 1 lb penne pasta

- 1 lb Italian sausage

- 1 red bell pepper, sliced

- 1 green bell pepper, sliced

- 1 onion, sliced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

- 1/2 cup red wine

- 2 tsp dried basil

- 2 tsp dried oregano

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish


Directions:

1. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and no longer pink. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add the sliced peppers and onion. Cook until they are softened and slightly caramelized.

4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.

5. Add the crushed tomatoes, red wine, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

6. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Simmer the sauce for about 15-20 minutes until it has thickened.

7. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss until the pasta is well coated in the sauce.

8. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
